About Me

Heather Pashley BA (Oxon) MBA FdA MBACP (Accred)

I work as a counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice, having previously worked in the NHS.

My background is in business change management and performance improvement, working with senior management teams often in very challenging and stressful environments. My interest in the human aspects of these changes grew and I studied human and developmental psychology with the Open University before deciding to formally retrain and qualify as a counsellor and psychotherapist.

I now work with people from all walks of life, dealing with a myriad of issues often far removed from the world I used to inhabit. But I retain a particular interest in working with people in professional roles who struggle to maintain their mental wellbeing. There is an irony in the fact that those organisational environments which most foster stress, anxiety and depression tend to dismiss these outcomes as weakness. This is mirrored by the paradox that often the very qualities which make someone successful in business can be problematic in their personal lives, leading to a sense of internal conflict and unease. If this resonates with you then we will work well together.

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Register. and I abide by the BACP's code of ethics: BACP ethical framework.
